Sandy Hay was raised on a farm and ranch outside of Charlie, Texas.  Being an only child, she spent a lot of time outside with her father learning about nature, the pleasure of caring for animals, the smells and tastes of the freshly plowed fields and how to have fun!  Sandy graduated from Petrolia HIgh School, Petrolia, Texas and attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.

After a career in banking and retail, Sandy studied with Liz Yarosz-Ash at Midwestern State University.  She has attended workshops with Peggi Kroll-Roberts, Bob Rohm, Phil Bob Borman, Pam Ingalls, Guido Frick, Robert Hutchinson, Aaron Bushnell and Michael Workman.  She has studied with Jane Spears Carnes, owner of Pecan Creek Farm for several years.  Jane's constant quest is to insure that her students learn the correct techniques and then develop their own style.

Sandy has shown her work and won awards in several art shows in Wichita Falls, Texas; Breckenridge, Texas; Graham, Texas; New York City, New York and Santa Fe, New Mexico. She lives on a ranch with her husband, Jim, along with a herd of cows, horses, donkeys, cats and a black lab named Cisco.
